The story of Jian Sheng began in 1923, when Principal Hsiung Hui founded Jian Sheng High School in Nanchang. The name “Jian Sheng” (literally “the sound of the sword”) symbolized both the sharpness of intellect and the spirit of martial arts.
The school carried with it the legendary tale of Lei Huan’s search for the sacred sword, and echoed with the recitation of eager students. It quickly became a household name and one of the most prestigious schools of its time.
1975: A New Chapter for Jian Sheng Begins
In 1975, fueled by a deep passion for early childhood education, Chief Director Hsiung Ming-Yueh revived the spirit of Jian Sheng in Taiwan by founding Jian Sheng Kindergarten in Xindian, New Taipei City. From that moment on, Jian Sheng was no longer just a part of history—it became a place of early inspiration for countless children, guiding them as they explored the world and grew into their fullest potential.
